Irati Burgues
Founder / Associate / Architect
Irati Burgues Asteasu, architect since 2006, studied at laescuela superior de arquitectura de San Sebastián, università degli studi di Firenze and escuela superior de arquitectura de Grenada.
In 2010 she obtained the master investigación in creación artistica at the facultad of bellas artes of the universidad del Pais Vasco, carrying out a study on the development of habitat as a graduate project.
Before creating her own agency B-Studio in 2010, Irati collaborated with several international achitectural agencies and plateforms like Sare Arkitektura, Nuke, Senf Werkstatt. Irati also collaborated in publications such as the review Aldiri Arkitektura amang others.
In 2019 she created the Studio 101 agency in Paris with Luc Germain, Sofia Steffenoni and Simona Auteri.
Between 2013 and 2019 Irati was secretary of la junta de la delegación en bizkaia del colegio oficial de arquitectos Vascos-Navarro.
Irati has always worked in environments related to design, the creation of spaces and the management of interdisciplinary projects.
Working on projects related to architecture, arts, management, participatory planning and people. B-Studio works in a network with other professionals (architects, engineers, designers).
Irati is fluent in Basque, English, Spanish, Italian and French.
Luc Germain
General Manager / Contractor / Designer
Luc Germain has been a project manager designer and designer for 30 years.
In 1990 he graduated as a civil engineering draftsman and building draftsman obtained after having completed an architectural baccalaureate and the SORNAS school in advertising design.
In 1988, he worked as a designer for SARL SERA. In 1990, he started collaborating with an architectural studio, becoming head the studio SELARL Vives et Germain in Hossegor in 1994 until 1999.
From 2000 to 2011, he joined forces with Pierre BATIFOUYE, DPLG architect, to create the 15/21 architectural studio based in Hossegor, as agency manager, designer and project manager. He works mainly in the South West sector (Landes and Basque Country).
He created his own agency in 2012, Atelier Luc Germain, also based in Hossegor, working in collaboration with architects.
Founding Luc Germain Design Studio (2014-2019), Luc also had the opportunity to work in London from 2014 to 2018 for Kering. Luc also founded ARGI (2014-2020), to work as a project manager in Milan for Gucci.
In 2019, with Irati Burgués Asteasu, Sofia Steffenoni and Simona Auteri, he created Studio 101, based in Paris.
Simona Auteri
Associate / Architect
Simona graduated with honors with Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara of Grafton Architects (Pritzker Price 2020) from her Master in Architecture at the Accademia di Architettura Mendrisio in Switzerland in 2011. Throughout her studies she interned at Kengo Kuma and Associates in Tokyo in 2010, at Plasmastudio in 2008 and completed Erasmus at Ecole d’Architecture de Belleville in Paris. Upon graduation she moved to Heatherwick Studio in 2011 to practice as architect, and worked on several award winning projects, prominently: Zeitz MOCAA – Silo project in Cape Town, South Africa, Nanyang Learning Hub in Singapore and Shanghai Bund International Financial Centre in collaboration with Foster and Partners, for which she relocated to Shanghai.
Back in London in 2014 she cofounded with Architect Sofia Steffenoni Matter of Stuff, a furniture procurement and manufacturing consultancy that provides a new approach to curating knowledge, network and crafts to transform impossible dreams into materiality.
In 2015 Matter of Stuff met with Atelier Luc Germain and the two studios worked together on the interiors of Kering Group headquarters in London Victoria.
In 2019 together with Luc Germain, Sofia Steffenoni and Irati Burgues she founded Studio 101 Architecture studio in París.
Simona is fluent in Italian, English and French. She is a competitive freediver and dives on a single breath to -40 m.
Sofia Steffenoni
Associate / Architect
Sofia is originally from Venice. She graduated with honors at the University of Ferrara (Italy) in June 2008 and was nominated at the Archiprix Italy 2010. Upon graduation she moved to Rome where she worked for N!Studio and the photographer Claudio Abate.
In 2009 she joined the competition team of 3xn in Copenhagen and she worked on several award winning projects, among which Swedbank headquarters and Lighthouse in Aarhus.
In 2011 she moved to London where she collaborated with Foreign Office Architects, Squire and Partners and Acme. During this period she worked on several project and she was responsible for the design and construction of John Lewis department store in Leeds.
In 2014 she cofounded with Simona Auteri Matter of Stuff, a furniture procurement and manufacturing consultancy that provides a new approach to curating knowledge, network and crafts to transform impossible dreams into materiality.
In 2015 Matter of Stuff collaborated with Atelier Luc Germain and Cedric Curuchet on the interiors of Kering Group headquarters in London Victoria.
In 2019 together with Luc Germain, Simona Auteri and Irati Burgues she founded Studio 101 Architecture studio in París.
Sofia is fluent in Italian, English and Spanish.
